Halton Mill Cafe & Clothes Swap – supporting Lancaster City of Sanctuary

Halton-Clothes-Swap-March-4 Halton-Clothes-Swap-March-2Halton Mill was very happy to host Lancaster People’s Cafe who held a pop-up cafe and clothes swap here last Saturday afternoon. It was packed, they raised £123 that has gone to Lancaster City of Sanctuary (they also have a Facebook page), lots of people came both from Halton and from the city, and they all had the chance to go away with some great clothes and to eat delicious food – all entirely made from ‘intercepted goods’ – i.e. food that would otherwise have ended up in landfill. Clothes left over from the event were shared where they’re most needed throughout the city and local surrounds.

Lancaster People’s Cafe is run entirely by willing volunteers, and pricing is on a ‘pay as you feel, eat what you need’ basis.
